NC WARN has launched another statewide, multi-platformed ad based on a 30-second video that leads with scores of empty roofs and parking lots across NC cities and towns.
… It then morphs into roofs and parking filled with solar panels, a reality that is possible for NC if we embrace local solar-plus-storage. The video then shows Duke crushing clean energy and the expansion of fracked gas that’s central to its monopoly-driven, rate-hiking PRO-Carbon Plan.
Our engineer and attorney are making a strong case for NC WARN’s new Sharing Solar proposal. But Duke Energy doesn’t want the NC Utilities Commission – or the news media – to even talk about alternatives.
Multiple independent experts insist that generating and storing power near where it’s used can save utility customers huge dollars, protect against power outages and help phase out fossil fueled power plants and transmission infrastructure.
The climate crisis is harming millions, fast getting worse – and North Carolina is speeding in the wrong direction. Please tell the public we do not have to defer to Duke Energy leaders’ recklessness.
