Don’t miss the Our Work page where our top current projects are listed.
Below are some others we’re working on, or have worked on in the past (click the titles to learn more). Celebrate some of the highlights on our Past Successes page.
Press the Press
Most media are doing a terrible job of conveying to the public the urgency of climate change, the availability of solutions and the obstacles to those solutions. Through letters to the editor and direct outreach to the media outlets we all rely on, our Press the Press team pushes the media to do its job.
Challenging Rate Hikes, Power Plants, Mergers, etc.
We regularly intervene at the NC Utilities Commission when Duke Energy requests approval for rate hikes and projects that are not in the public interest. Learn about specific cases on our Legal Filings page.
Climate Urgency
Links to lots of information on climate change, its impacts and the science behind it.
Here is more about our past work to change Duke Energy’s business model and slow climate change before it’s too late:
Emergency Climate Response
In 2015, NC WARN and allies filed an Emergency Complaint with then-Attorney General Roy Cooper, calling on him to use his constitutional authority to investigate Duke Energy’s corporate charter and require Duke Energy to truly act in the public interest as its charter requires.
Duke’s Climate Legacy
Dukeasaurus helped us send former Duke Energy CEO Jim Rogers the message that he should act now to secure a positive climate legacy.
Coal Ash
Duke Energy spilled tons of toxic coal ash into the Dan River in 2014, launching a movement demanding that Duke clean up its mess and not make its customers pay the costs.
