CHATHAM: Public Comment Period re: Enbridge Pipeline

August 5 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

In late April, Enbridge Gas announced its plans to build a new 28-mile natural gas pipeline through Chatham County, from Siler City to Moncure. The proposed “Chatham County System Expansion Project” (CCSE) would disturb rural landowners, cultural sites, and critical animal habitats, crossing several creeks that feed the Deep River and other main waterways. This pipeline would lock Chatham County into a dirty and dangerous fossil fuel path.

Chatham residents: make your voice heard! Attend the Chatham County Board of Commissioners’ special meeting to comment on the proposed pipeline. Urge the Chatham Commissioners to stand against Enbridge’s devastating fossil fuel buildout.

To learn more about the pipeline, the legal rights of Chatham landowners, and opportunities to organize and strategize with other Chatham residents, visit the Haw River Assembly’s website.
