The NC WARN Youth Organizers’ mission is to gather a youth-led Action Team to educate on climate justice, advocate for a Cleaner Energy Future, develop Organizing skills, and uplift youth voices. While we are eager to help brainstorm and facilitate meetings + events with the group, we also really want it to be a youth-led and youth-centric effort and to touch on a variety of interests. Calling all curious minds, with any number of passions and skills: environmentalists and scientists, artists and activists, dancers and movers, etc.
This is a kick-off event (and Summer Solstice celebration!) for any and all high school aged youth who are interested in climate and/or social justice issues or just want to learn more about NC WARN’s work and how youth can get involved. We will share more about specific programming we plan to launch this summer, including an Art Campaign/Contest. It is going to be relaxed and fun-focused, with a cookout, music and outdoor games.
