DESCRIPTION:Come see The True Cost of Power: Duke Energy’s Climate Deception\, hosted by NC WARN on Wednesday\, July 8th\, from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM at the Bynum General Store (950 Bynum Road\, Pittsboro\, NC 27312). \nNC WARN will be showcasing its short documentary\, The True Cost of Power: Duke Energy’s Climate Deception\, followed by a presentation and Q&A led by our Clean Energy Strategist and Climate Justice Coordinator. The presentation will cover the climate landscape\, Duke Energy’s energy plans\, including a recent revelation that the corporation is actively recruiting data centers\, and how Chatham is being targeted for this buildout of pipelines\, data centers\, and fracked gas plants. \nWe will also introduce a campaign to get North Carolina\, including Chatham County\, on the right track in the face of the climate crisis. Our Stop Climate Deception campaign urges Governor Stein to stop Duke Energy’s expansion of fossil fuels and suppression of renewables to protect all of our North Carolina communities. \nThe event is free\, but space is limited\, so please make sure to RSVP here.
