Rally: Hold Duke Energy Accountable on NC’s Carbon Plan!
September 13 @ 8:00 am - 9:00 am
Rally at NC Utilities Commission (NCUC) at the outset of hearings on the NC carbon plan.
Arrive by 8 am to greet participants, including Duke lawyers, staff and others, as they enter the hearings, which start at 9.
As the NCUC kicks off the first-ever NC Carbon Plan expert hearing — one of the most consequential hearings in the history of the state — the voices of NC’s concerned climate citizens matter now more than ever.
Duke Energy will testify first starting on Tuesday morning, where they will attempt to convince the NCUC to delay CO2 reductions and restrict renewable energy deployment, based on deeply misleading analysis and in defiance of state law.
Make your voice heard to ensure the NCUC holds Duke Energy accountable!
This will be a 100% peaceful, constructive, non-disruptive rally, taking place on the public sidewalk. Gather at the northwest corner of the Dobbs Building at 430 N Salisbury St.
Invite your friends! Bring a sign. Possible messages:
- “Tell Duke: No Delay, No Denial, No Excuses!”
- “Protect Ratepayers, Protect the Planet: Deploy Renewables Now!”
- “Stand Up for NC Law: Hold the Line on NC’s 2030 CO2 Mandate!”
- “NCUC: Your Time Is Now!”
- “Don’t Let Duke Block the Sun!”
